Mass Effect (impressions by daniel)

Mass Effect is pretty cool, but the only problem I have is the squad based attacks you give to your guys. When you give them an order to attack they just sit there and shoot — no cover whatsoever!

I created a girl who was supposed to be bad-ass… but I should have added a little foundation to her skin. She isn’t as cool as Andrew’s character who oozes bad-ass when you look at him and his manly stubble. For some reason, when I try to make my girl act in bad-ass ways she sounds lame. Or it turns out she didn’t like my bad-ass interpretation and goes soft on me. Andrew’s character shot a guy in the face when someone looked at him funny. He also punched the survivor of a horrible attack in the face because he had too much caffeine.  When you’re bad-ass, there’s always something face-related to do to someone.  My girl just looks at them with disapproval.  What the hell is that?

Also, why are the elevator rides so long? And how come no one explained the direct-transport terminals as I wandered around the citadel for hours minutes.

(these impressions may not be Daniel’s, but rather how Andrew interpreted what Daniel might have been impressed by as he played.)

I’d never heard of this game before reading it on your blog, but it sounds like fun!
