I've had this happen once or twice myself. Someone tells you about this great idea they have for a book, and suggests that you write it, as if the actual literary construction is a mere 50% (or less) of the collaboration.

I barely allow anyone to read my unfinished stories, but for illustrations, I tend to get the brief pause followed by "How long did that take you?" or "It's kind of dark, isn't it?" (comment on nighttime picture).

Anyway, yes, your epic is ten thousand times better than any slasher story, so keep going! It shall win the Hugo Award.

To be honest, this visual argument isn't doing it for me, and not just because I'm an Avatar fanboy in the making; I've seen comparative visuals of floating islands, elfin creatures, monsters, glowing floaters, dragon riders, people leaning over fallen warriors, embracing couples, and critters in warrior garb in the Lord of the Rings, Final Fantasy, and in virtually every fantasy RPG ever made. These are all iconic images. I saw a much better photo comparison for the Matrix versus Ghost in the Shell.

Both films seem to be derivative genre mish-mashes, though seeing Delgo footage tells me it's wildly fanciful in a castles-and-fairies sense, while Avatar is a sci-fi natives versus technology war movie.

For an indie film, Delgo was probably a huge and inventive achievement. Their financial loss is depressing. However, I see vastly different ideas here. Both films rip off all kinds of successful concepts, but their similarities to each other are slight.

Of course, nobody has seen either movie, so who knows? :P

It's amazing how long a short film takes to be shot. I also experienced this back in university when we had a project for a class. This was tiring but the end result was worth it. Good luck!

Yeah, if all of your customers die, there's nobody left to buy your product! That's why I'm marketing my own brand of undergarments that make you pregnant.

Okay, you twisted my arm... My list of firefox add-ons:

Adblock Plus
Air Miles Toolbar (for AM, not for searching stuff)
All-in-one Sidebar (although I'm disappointed vertical tabs can't be displayed in the sidebar... anyone know of an app that All-in-one works friendly with?)
Cooliris
Customer Download Manager (currently disabled for...)
Download Statusbar
