All you need to know is I’m awesome.
If you thought writing a description of a book was hard, try talking yourself up in an “About the Author” section. What’s interesting is that “book descriptions” and “about the authors” are all very much the same, and standard is not necessarily best.
I found an old blog entry describing this issue in more detail. Publishers have an almost standardized approach to telling the reader who the author is, but it’s not interesting. That means what exists today is probably not the example I want to follow. I’ve made fun of this standard in the past, but now I need to put modesty aside.
If you’ll excuse me, I’m on my way to save baby seals from oil spills.
